Rees Johnson, a security technology veteran, has joined Forcepoint as chief product officer to help accelerate the company’s strategy of delivering secure access service edge platforms meant to help government agencies and commercial clients protect data.
He brings over two decades of experience in software as a service migration strategy, network security and cloud security to Forcepoint as he leads the company’s product development, strategic integration and innovation efforts, the company said Monday.
Forcepoint CEO Manny Rivelo said Johnson’s appointment comes as the company works to transform data security and his experience will be instrumental as he oversees SASE product development teams.
Rivelo added that Johnson has been a cybersecurity innovator for more than 20 years and that he looks forward to working with him as the company accelerates development and investment in the data-first SASE offering.
Johnson previously worked at Symantec as senior vice president of product management for the company’s enterprise division. Before Symantec, he held senior leadership positions at Intel (Nasdaq: INTC), formerly McAfee, including SVP of McAfee Labs and SVP and general manager of the content and SaaS security business.
