Lockheed Books $157M MDA Contract for Battle Management System Modernization

Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) has received a $157 million contract to help the Missile Defense Agency update an integrated architecture that offers commanders a global view of the battlespace.

The company said Tuesday it will perform Spiral 8.2-7 upgrade work on MDA’s Command, Control, Battle Management and Communications system to help Ground-Based Midcourse Defense system users visualize threat system tracks using data from multiple sources.

Lockheed added that the update will allow military operators to receive alerts for any hypersonic threat activity from C2BMC through the Link 16 tactical communications network.

Mark Johnson, the company’s director of missile defense solutions, noted that customers can use the system to support joint all-domain operations.
