Laurie Cook Named Yext Public Sector VP

Laurie “LC” Cook, a more than two-decade industry veteran, has joined artificial intelligence search company Yext (NYSE: YEXT) as vice president of public sector.

She will oversee Yext’s sales arm responsible for serving U.S. federal, state and local government agencies in the newly created role, the company said in an Aug. 2 news release.

Cook said Yext has helped the State Department and the World Health Organization deliver information related to COVID-19 and that she looks forward to developing a team that is focused on realizing the full potential of the company’s AI search platform in the public sector.

She held the same position at Blue Prism prior to joining Yext. She previously worked at SAS Institute as federal civilian sales account director for the Department of Commerce and manager of federal civilian sales at LexisNexis.

Cook’s “unmatched energy, deep industry knowledge, and appreciation for the impact that AI search technology can have is going to be critical to our success in serving the public sector,” said Brian Distelburger, co-founder, president and chief operating officer of Yext.
