Forcepoint’s Eric Trexler Calls on Agencies to Provide Cybersecurity Training to Employees

TYSONS CORNER, VA, Aug. 9, 2021 — Eric Trexler, vice president of global governments and critical infrastructure team at Forcepoint, has urged federal agencies to provide information technology professionals and other employees with cybersecurity training, and to “pressure test” their cyber incident response playbook, ExecutiveBiz reported July 27.

“In addition to regular awareness training on phishing scams and ransomware attacks, agencies must run exercises to reinforce the proper security measures if an employee does succumb to an attack,” he wrote in a blog post.

Trexler noted that the cybersecurity training is in accordance with President Joe Biden’s executive order on cybersecurity.
