Delta Information Systems has concluded its acquisition of Silver Spring, Maryland-based Wideband Systems Inc., which will operate as the former’s wholly-owned subsidiary focused on delivering data recording equipment to its aerospace and defense customers.
Gary Thom, president of Delta, said Friday WSI’s portfolio of ground-based aerospace recorders complements a range of airborne recording instruments and ground-based flight test telemetry offerings from other subsidiaries.
WSI manufactures and markets custom-designed recording systems and standard, off-the-shelf products to aerospace, communications and intelligence sectors. The digital recorders can be applied to aerospace telemetry, communications test and evaluation, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance, and electronic warfare operations.
It joins four other Delta business units: Ampex Data Systems Corp., Delta Digital Video, GDP Space Systems and Acroamatics. The subsidiaries provide complementary products and services to aerospace and defense customers.
