Northrop Grumman (NYSE: NOC) has secured a $210.1M contract to manufacture navigation systems for installation on surface and underwater U.S. Navy vessels.

The company will supply AN/WSN-7 ring laser gyroscope systems and provide related support items and services under the sole-source contract, the Department of Defense said Wednesday.

Work will take place in Charlottesville, Virginia, through December 2022. Naval Sea Systems Command serves as the contracting activity and will use $19.7M in fiscal 2020 funds to finance the initial task order.

The RLG technology is designed to generate navigation data and provide attitude and heading information for weapon system controllers, according to Northrop.
