Ted Wagner, vice president and chief information security officer at SAP National Security Services, said government agencies should have the right balance of technology, processes and people to ensure that cloud security can better manage cyber threats in the digital landscape.
Wagner wrote how SAP NS2 strives to have that balance by taking measures such as adopting machine learning, automation and behavior analytics in security monitoring efforts, attracting the top talent and getting the process right.
“We also share insights with our industry peers and have outside consultants double-check our work through periodic assessments,” he added.
He noted that SAP NS2 integrates industry strategies like the cloud aspects of Mitre’s ATT&CK Matrix to carry out security monitoring and cited how threat intelligence platforms coupled with security information and event management tools can automate security monitoring.
Wagner also discussed how the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program helps promote consistency and transparency when it comes to the use of cloud by agencies.
