Be a Heart Walk Hero: Why Executive Mosaic CEO Jim Garrettson Walks with AHA

On November 6th – 8th, the American Heart Association (AHA) will host the 2020 Greater Washington Region Heart Walk Digital Experience. The event will unite over a million walkers from across the nation to offer a fun and meaningful way to celebrate heart and stroke survivors, as well as raise lifesaving funds for those in need.

“Heart disease is the number one killer of Americans. An American dies every 36 seconds of heart disease. It’s daunting to try and relate to this overwhelming statistic. What’s easy to understand is the research and work of the American Heart Association that has kept my own mother alive and healthy,” said Jim Garrettson, founder and CEO of Executive Mosaic and a member of the AHA Committee.

“I support the HeartWalk and my Mom is living proof that it makes a difference. My mother, Joanne is 86 years old and recently had to have a pig valve replaced in her heart. She is doing better than ever. She’s been given a second lease on life, no longer struggling to breath or having to feel lightheaded when she moves.

Without the research of the AHA, people like my mother would not be here today. I am so grateful for all that the AHA does and the Heart Walk is a visual representation of all the work done over the year,” Garrettson expressed sincerely.
