The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) has released a request for proposals for a potential five-year, $247.3 million contract intended to help drive the VA’s enterprise-wide information technology modernization initiatives.
The department said in a notice posted Friday on the beta SAM website that it plans to set-aside the Customer Experience, DevOps and Agile Releases contract to service-disabled, veteran-owned small businesses.
According to the performance work statement, the indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) contract covers support for the agile delivery of commercial products meant to streamline the VA’s operations in line with industry best practices.
Proposers must have the capacity to provide services encompassing application programming interface development, DevOps, continuous integration and delivery, cloud design and management, user research and automated testing.
CEDAR is additionally intended to serve as a “streamlined and common contracting vehicle” that will simplify the VA’s procurement of software development services, the notice states. Contract work will take place at on- and off-site government and non-government facilities as determined by individual task orders.
The VA also expects most of the work to occur within the contiguous U.S. Responses to the RFP are due on June 18.
