Parsons (NYSE: PSN) announced Monday the appointment of Retired Air Force Gen. Darren McDew and Dave Wajsgras, six-time Wash100 Award winner, to the company’s board of directors to help advance its strategic priorities.
“Gen. McDew and David Wajsgras dedicated their careers to delivering a better, safer world and their experience will be invaluable to expanding our core markets, broadening our software and hardware technology, and growing our transactional revenues,” said Chuck Harrington, Parsons chairman, chief executive officer and fellow 2020 Wash100 Award recipient.
Their appointments follow Letitia Long’s addition to the Board in April, and continue Parsons’ commitment to a strong and independent board of directors with diverse and valuable backgrounds that align with the company’s strategic priorities.
McDew served with the United States military for 36 years. He most recently served as the commander of the United States Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM). He served as the senior uniformed officer responsible for global air, land and sea transportation, and patient movement for the Department of Defense (DoD).
McDew was commissioned as an Air Force officer in 1982. He began his career as a pilot and continued through multiple operational leadership roles and at the White House as military aide to the President and on Capitol Hill as chief Air Force senate liaison, among others.
Wajsgras has served as president of the Intelligence, Information and Services (IIS) business of the former Raytheon Company, now part of Raytheon Technologies Corporation. In the role, he drove digital transformation by challenging traditional defense industry software development tools, culture and process standards through implementation of commercial software best practices.
Previously, he served as Raytheon’s senior vice president and chief financial officer (CFO), where he provided extensive financial and operational expertise, and his responsibilities included financial reporting and controls, merger and acquisition activity, planning and analysis, investor relations, tax and treasury.
Before Joining Raytheon, Wajsgras served as executive vice president and CFO of Lear Corporation, where he led strategic repositioning and restructuring of the company and drove the successful completion of several domestic and international acquisitions, with a focus on manufacturing footprint and channels to market. Wajsgras also had Profit and Loss responsibility for The Interior Systems Business, the global manufacturing division of Lear.
“We are fortunate to have such qualified, distinguished and honorable individuals as Gen. McDew and David Wajsgras join the Parsons team,” added Harrington.
