Kieran McGrath Named Avaya SVP, CFO; Jim Chirico Quoted

Kieran McGrath

Kieran McGrath, a more than 30-year technology industry veteran, has been named senior vice president and chief financial officer of Avaya (NYSE: AVYA) in a move that will take effect on Feb. 15.

He will directly report to Avaya President and CEO Jim Chirico and oversee the tech firm’s financial planning, controller organization, tax, treasury and investor relations, the company said Monday.

“Kieran is an outstanding addition to our leadership team, bringing a wealth of experience and proven performance to Avaya as we continue our transformation and invest for our future growth,” Chirico said.

McGrath previously served as executive VP and CFO of CA Technologies and prior to that, he held senior finance and operations roles at IBM (NYSE: IBM).

Pat O’Malley, who joined Avaya in 2017 and led the company’s financial transformation efforts, will transition to the role of SVP for growth initiatives.

He will also report to Chirico and manage cross-functional initiatives that are key to the company’s fiscal 2019 revenue growth objective in his new role.
