Lockheed Partners With Raytheon on Payload Dev’t for New USAF Missile-Warning System


TYSONS CORNER, VA, January 11, 2018 — Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) has named Raytheon (NYSE: RTN) a partner in its effort to develop a missile-detection platform for the U.S. Air Force that would succeed the current Space Based Infrared System satellites, ExecutiveBiz reported Thursday.

Raytheon said Wednesday it will help design the payload using open system architecture and perform work through critical design review for the Next Generation Overhead Persistent Infrared Block 0 satellite designed for resilient missile warning.
