William Rittershaus Named SPA Huntsville Operations Director; William Vantine Quoted

William Rittershaus, formerly senior system engineer of Systems Planning and Analysis and a retired U.S. Air Force colonel, has been appointed director of the company’s operations in Huntsville, Ala.

He will oversee business strategy and development activities targeting Conventional Prompt Strike or hypersonics-related projects within the region in his new role, SPA said Wednesday.

The 23-year Air Force veteran previously commanded the 50th Space Wing and the Florida-based Range Management Squadron.

Rittershaus trained crewmen and facility managers as the service’s missile combat crew commander, as well as helped the Office of the Secretary of Defense manage the CPS system tests and monitor the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent program.

William Vantine, president and CEO at SPA, said Rittershaus brings experience in the space, missile and hypersonic technology areas as the company aims to grow customer support work in the Huntsville area.

“Bill’s recent work with OSD supporting the CPS and GBSD programs was recognized at the highest levels of the department.
