Raytheon, Air Force Plan Operational Tests on StormBreaker Bomb in Summer

TYSONS CORNER, VA, July 17, 2018 — Raytheon (NYSE: RTN) and the U.S. Air Force will move forward to the operational testing phase in summer on the second increment of the Small Diameter Bomb after concluding operational test readiness assessment earlier this year, ExecutiveBiz reported Monday.

The company said Monday the StormBreaker bomb features a tri-mode seeker with imaging infrared, millimeter wave and semi-active laser designed to help F-15E Strike Eagle and potentially F-35 pilots hit moving targets in adverse weather conditions.
