General Atomics Flies SkyGuardian RPA Over Atlantic for Royal International Air Tattoo

TYSONS CORNER, VA, July 12, 2018 — General Atomics has flown an MQ-9B SkyGuardian variant of its Predator B remotely piloted aircraft from North Dakota in the U.S. to Gloucestershire in the U.K. ahead of the platform’s presentation at the 2018 Royal International Air Tattoo airshow over the weekend, ExecutiveBiz reported Wednesday.

The company said Tuesday its aeronautics systems business used Inmarsat Government‘s SwiftBroadband satellite communications service to connect the SkyGuardian to a U.S. ground control station during this first-ever trans-Atlantic flight of a medium-range, long-endurance RPA.
