Iridium Preps 5 ‘NEXT’ Satellites for May 19 Launch From Vandenberg AFB

TYSONS CORNER, VA, April 27, 2018Iridium Communications (Nasdaq: IRDM) has delivered the sixth batch of Iridium NEXT satellites to Vandenberg Air Force Base in California in preparation for their launch on May 19, ExecutiveBiz reported Thursday.

The company said Wednesday the five satellites will undergo pre-launch processing procedures, including fueling, mating and encapsulation with the “launch proven” SpaceX-built Falcon 9 rocket that will bring them to space, where they will join the operational Iridium NEXT constellation.
