Laura Grant, head of digital innovation for public sector at SAP(NYSE: SAP), has said government agencies seeking to generate insights from large datasets and accelerate the decision-making process should share and layer data at granular levels.
Grant wrote that machine learning and predictive analytics are among the technology platforms that need access to granular level data.
Interesting discoveries and insights are uncovered when agencies can process and visualize detailed information at the lowest level and even add other layers of data, she noted.
Grant said that agencies should work to consolidate systems and streamline business processes in order to gain access to transparent data and facilitate data sharing at a granular level.
She noted that collaboration can help agencies address the issue of data trust and advance data sharing efforts.
The more agencies create trusted data sources and continue to collaborate, data analytics will have a much more significant impact, Grant added.
