Data Link Solutions and ViaSat (Nasdaq: VSAT) have received contract modifications worth $123.4 million combined to continue to develop, produce and sustain Multifunctional Information Distribution System Joint Tactical Radio Systems terminals for the U.S. Navy.
The modifications to a previously awarded indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract increase the contracts ceiling value from $478.6 million to $602 million, the Defense Departmentsaid Thursday.
The MIDS JTRS terminal is a software-defined radio system designed to collect and transmit broadband data and voice across ground, maritime and aerial platforms.
The Space and Naval Warfare System Command awarded the modifications in support of U.S. service branches, NATO member countries and other allies under a foreign military sales program.
Work will occur in Iowa and New Jersey through June 2020.
