August 29th Market Close: GovConIndex and Major Indices Close Up


The Executive Mosaic GovCon Index (GCI) continued its upward direction to end the day at 100.917, positive 0.932 percent. Navistar International, ICF, Raytheon, and Rockwell Collins all topped the GCI with greater than 2.00 percent positive change on the day. Advancing shares outpaced declining 5 to 1.

The major indices all closed up. The S&P500 moved ahead by 0.08 percent to 2,446.30, while DJIA gained 0.26 percent to  21,865.37, and the NASDAQ Composite was up 0.30 percent to close at 6,301.89.

Crude oil continued to drop today as refiners in the Texas Gulf Coast are feeling the pains from Hurricane Harvey. WTI on the NY Mercantile Exchange ended the day negative 0.28 percent to $46.44 per barrel.

The Executive Mosaic GovCon Index (GCI) closed up today by 0.240 percent to 108.301. Booz Allen Hamilton (NYSE:BAH) topped the GCI posting greater than a 2.00 percent gain, while CACI (NYSE:CACI), McKesson Corp.
