Market Close July 26th: GovConIndex and Major Indices Close Up


The Executive Mosaic GovCon Index (GCI) closed up for the fifth consecutive day at 98.915. However, decliners outpaced advancers at 20 to 10.

The major indices all closed up on the day with the S&P500 at 2,477.83, while DJIA closed at 21,711.01. The NASDAQ Composite continued rising and settled at a new record high of 6,422.75.

Crude oil ended the day up for the third day in a row. WTI on the NY Mercantile Exchange posted a gain of 1.55 percent to $48.63 per barrel.
