Orbital ATK Spacecraft Moves to 2nd Phase of NASA OA-7 Mission


TYSONS CORNER, VA, June 6, 2017 — The Orbital ATK-built (NYSE: OA) Cygnus spacecraft called S.S. John Glenn has started to perform its secondary payload missions for NASA after completing its primary cargo delivery mission and subsequent stay at the International Space Station, ExecutiveBiz reported Monday.

The company said Sunday the spacecraft has moved forward to the next phase of the OA-7 mission where it will conduct an experiment on the behavior of fires in microgravity, deploy four global ship tracking CubeSats into orbit, collect data on re-entry conditions and dispose of 4,300 pounds of items from ISS.
