TYSONS CORNER, VA, June 27, 2017 — Iridium Communications (Nasdaq: IRDM) could use SpaceX‘s pre-flown first-stage Falcon 9 rocket boosters to launch future Iridium Next satellites depending on the impact to cost, reliability and the schedule, ExecutiveBiz reported Wednesday.

Space News reported June 20 that the company will look into the possibility of using reused boosters for Iridium Next launches in 2018 if the move will cut wait times between launches.

“That’s the first thing: Will they improve my schedule, because schedule to me is very very important,” Matt Desch, CEO of Iridium and an inductee into Executive Mosaic’s Wash100 for 2017, told Space News.
