Sam Gordy

Executive Mosaic, Tysons Corner, VA March 8, 2017 — Sam Gordy, general manager of IBM‘s federal business, has been selected for this year’s Executive Mosaic Wash100, for his leadership in cloud security.

The Wash100 is the premier group of private and public sector executives selected by Executive Mosaic’s organizational and editorial leadership as the most influential voices in the GovCon sector and recognized for their leadership and impact in shaping the industry.

Gordy was appointed to his current position in January 2016 and succeeded Anne Altman to lead IBM Federal.

With the award of an authorization from the Defense Information Systems Agency a month later for the deployment of IBM Cloud at the highest security levels to support controlled and unclassified information at the Defense Department, Gordy called the cloud service “an ideal option to launch workloads in a hybrid cloud that can be easily integrated with their on-premise systems.”

When introducing this year’s Wash100, Executive Mosaic President and Founder Jim Garrettson said, “We are pleased to honor this year’s recipients. These individuals are recognized by their peers and Executive Mosaic for their outstanding achievements in the GovCon marketplace.”

“The GovCon market is well positioned for an exciting year of growth and prosperity in 2017 and these winners, through their leadership and vision, will shape and impact the industry.”
