Fincantieri‘s North American subsidiary has received a potential $86.3 million contract to support maintenance of main propulsion diesel engine and diesel generator on the U.S. Navy‘s Mine Countermeasure-1 class ships.

The multiple award, firm-fixed-price, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract has a $15.7 million initial value and the base period will run through January 2018, the Defense Department said Tuesday.

Fincantieri Marine Systems North America will perform work in U.S. naval bases located in San Diego, California; Manama, Bahrain; and Sasebo, Japan.

The Navy will obligate $4.4 million in fiscal 2017 operations and maintenance funds at the time of award.
