Orbital ATK Eyes New Missions for Pegasus XL Rocket After 2017 NASA Launch


TYSONS CORNER, VA, Dec. 30, 2016 — Orbital ATK (NYSE: OA) is exploring new mission opportunities for its Pegasus XL air-launched rocket after the launch of NASA‘s Ionospheric Connection Explorer satellite in June 2017, ExecutiveBiz reported Thursday.

Spaceflight Now reported Tuesday the company has no plans of phasing out the rocket after the completion of the NASA payload flight.

The report added the three candidate payloads for an upcoming NASA satellite launch in 2020 are designed to fit Pegasus.
