3rd Lockheed-Developed Missile Warning Satellite Cleared for Launch

TYSONS CORNER, VA, Dec. 8, 2016 — The U.S. Air Force‘s Space and Missile Systems Center has approved the launch of the third Lockheed Martin-built (NYSE: LMT) Space Based Infrared System missile-warning satellite, Executive Gov reported Wednesday.

Space News reported Tuesday the military service also cleared an update for the satellite’s ground control system that will work to gather data collected by the constellation.
