L-3 Lands $208M Night Vision Equipment Supply Contract With Australia


night-vision-gogglesL-3 Communications (NYSE: LLL) has received a potential five-year, $208 million contract to supply night vision imaging systems to the Australian army.

The Australian Defense Force awarded the contract under the LAND 53 Phase 1BR program through a competitive procurement process, L-3 said Monday.

L-3 will deliver binocular night vision goggles with white phosphor image intensification features,  compact laser with integrated white light functions, miniature laser rangefinders and other detection and targeting tools to ADF and expects to begin deliveries in May 2017 through May 2021.

L-3 Warrior Systems will perform work in partnership with L-3 Oceania and will unveil a new sustainment facility in Australia in order to provide regional customer and logistics support under the contract.

L-3 Warrior Systems is part of the company’s electronic systems business segment and develops electro-optical and night vision equipment for the U.S. military, first responders and allied countries.
