L-3 Communications (NYSE: LLL)Â has received a potential five-year, $208 million contract to supply night vision imaging systems to the Australian army.The Australian Defense Force awarded the contract under the LAND 53 Phase 1BR program through a competitive procurement process, L-3 said Monday.
L-3 will deliver binocular night vision goggles with white phosphor image intensification features, Â compact laser with integrated white light functions, miniature laser rangefinders and other detection and targeting tools to ADF and expects to begin deliveries in May 2017 through May 2021.
L-3 Warrior Systems will perform work in partnership with L-3 Oceania and will unveil a new sustainment facility in Australia in order to provide regional customer and logistics support under the contract.
L-3 Warrior Systems is part of the company’s electronic systems business segment and develops electro-optical and night vision equipment for the U.S. military, first responders and allied countries.
