Bechtel Gets $532M Contract Modification for Naval Nuclear Propulsion Components


BechtelLogoBechtel‘s plant machinery organization will continue work on naval nuclear propulsion components for the U.S. Navy under a $532.4 million modification to a previously awarded contract.

The Navy will obligate $520.5 million in fiscal 2017 shipbuilding and conversion funds at the time of award of the modification, the Defense Department said Tuesday.

Bechtel Plant Machinery Inc. supports the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program through the company’s facilities in Monroeville, Pennsylvania and Schenectady, New York.

BMPI oversees the fabrication, testing, delivery, installation and fielding of nuclear power plant components for Navy submarines and aircraft carriers.
