Bill Johnston, a three-decade federal government industry veteran, has joined Grant Thornton as an advisory managing director.
Johnston will be based at the company’s McLean, Virginia office and lead the firm’s government contracting industry practice, where he will support government vendors in contracting, accounting, compliance and regulatory matters, Grant Thornton said Monday.
“Bill’s experience and track record of success will lend tremendous insight and make him a valuable resource to both our existing and future clients, ” said Rich LaFleur, partner-in-charge of industries, markets and clients for Grant Thornton’s Atlantic coast practice.
He previously served as KPMG’s national regulatory and compliance lead for aerospace and defense advisory services.
Johnston was also the director of contracts and vice president of business management at Lockheed Martin before he joined KPMG.
Johnston is a lifetime member of the U.S. Army Reserve.
