Navy Taps 4 Firms for $206M Non-Skid Deck Installation, Removal Support IDIQ


Virginia class submarineThe U.S. Navy has awarded positions on a potential one-year, $206 million contract to four companies to provide non-skid deck removal and installation support services for the Mid-Atlantic Regional Maintenance Center in Virginia.

The service branch awarded the fixed-price, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract through competitive procurement with four bids received via the FedBizOpps website, the Defense Department said Friday.

The contract covers old deck covering removal, application of primer coatings, abrasive blast, power tool clean decks, ultra-high pressure water jet and installation of new non-skid deck aboard naval submarines and other military vessels.

Work will occur through December 2016 in Norfolk, Virginia, according to DoD.

The selected contractors and their respective awards are listed below:

  • East Coast Repair & Fabrication – $57.8 million
  • Main Industries – $45.7 million
  • Surface Technologies – $45.03 million
  • UHP Projects – $57. 3 million
