The contract awarded by Switzerlandâs defense, civil protection and sport department also covers the provision of a land-based segment for command, communications and control operations, Elbit Systems said Thursday.
The Hermes 900 UAVÂ is designed to perform ground support, surveillance, reconnaissance, intelligence, maritime patrol and target acquisition missions.
The drone can fly for up to 36 hours with a maximum payload capacity of 350 kilograms.
