Christopher Kastner to Become Huntington Ingalls CFO in March 2016; Mike Petters Comments

Christopher Kastner, corporate vice president and general manager of corporate development at Huntington Ingalls Industries (NYSE: HII) will transition into new roles as chief financial officer and corporate VP for business development by March 1.

Kastner will succeed the retiring Barbara Niland and oversee business and profit growth strategies as well as financial reporting, treasury, investor relations, planning and analysis, budgets and merger and acquisition activities, HII said Friday.

“He brings with him a set of finely-honed financial, operational and strategic skills that will be important… as we guide HII into the future and create further value for our customers, shareholders and employees, ” said Huntington Ingalls President and CEO Mike Petters.

Kastner has held his current position since August 2012 and previously served as CFO and VP of the company’s Ingalls Shipbuilding division.

He also worked as CFO for Northrop Grumman‘s (NYSE: NOC) Gulf Coast shipbuilding operations and as VP of contracts and risk management for the former ship systems business.

He is a member of the board of directors at public broadcasting company WHRO and board of trustees at Eastern Virginia Medical School.
