TYSONS CORNER, VA, October 20,  2015 — Raytheon (NYSE: RTN) has made some changes to its development work on the U.S. Air Force GPS Next Generation Operational Control System program following recommendations from an independent review, ExecutiveBiz reported Monday.

Kevin Ramundo, vice president of communications at Raytheon Intelligence, Information and Services, told Bloomberg in an email that “nearly all… corrective actions” to address the project’s challenges have been realized.

“Despite past challenges, [the program] …is on a strong foundation, ” Ramundo said.

According to Bloomberg, the Defense Department will perform another assessment by yearend to determine the contractor’s progress.
