Engility Holdings has received a five-year, $14 million contract to assist the U.S. Agency for International Development in combating illegal wildlife trade in Tanzania.

The company will provide technical assistance for USAID’s Promoting Tanzania’s Environment, Conservation and Tourism program, Engility said Thursday.

“This contract will enable Engility to expand its technical assistance work in Africa, where we currently support a range of programs designed to further USAID’s mission to end extreme global poverty and enable resilient, democratic societies to realize their potential, ” said Tony Smeraglinolo, Engility president and CEO.

“The Protect program’s focus on eradication of wildlife poaching and trafficking is an increasing priority for USAID, and Engility appreciates the opportunity to support this important effort, ” added Smeraglinolo.
