Kurt Tripp, a more than 30-year defense industry veteran, has been appointed senior vice president and manager for the defense division within Parsons‘ government services unit.

His appointment is effective immediately and he will be responsible for executing growth strategies in the defense market, Parsons said Wednesday.

“I am confident that his deep knowledge of the industry and considerable skills as a leader will help us to realize growth within the market, ” said Mary Ann Hopkins, a Parsons group president.

Tripp most recently served as manager of the organization’s defense and security sector.

In that role, he worked with the Missile Defense Agency, National Reconnaissance Office, National Security Agency, Navy‘s Office of Naval Research and Air Force Space and Missile Systems Center.

He joined Parsons in 2011 upon that company’s purchase of Sparta.
