Engility Holdings (NYSE: EGL) has received a three-year, $66 million contract to continue helping the John A. Volpe National Transportation Systems Center develop and evaluate a satellite-based air traffic control system.
The company will provide management, analysis and technical services for the Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast project, Engility said Wednesday.
Tony Smeraglinolo, Engility president and CEO, said the company has supported the ADS-B program over the past eight years.
ADS-B is a core element of the Federal Aviation Administration’s Next Generation Air Transportation System initiative and seeks to improve air traffic management by using satellite and digital technology.
