Lee Rivas: LexisNexis to Buy Health Market Science for HIT Market Push

healthcare-systemLexisNexis Risk Solutions is acquiring clinical data management firm Health Market Science in a bid to expand LexisNexis’ information technology offerings for the healthcare sector.

The companies aim to combine HMS intelligence services with LexisNexis-built analytics tools to help healthcare organizations avoid fraud as well as address compliance and care delivery issues, Lee Rivas, CEO of public sector and healthcare at LexisNexis Risk Solutions, said Thursday.

LexisNexis also seeks to integrate HMS-provided data into its High-Performance Computing Cluster database platform through the acquisition.

Petsky Prunier Securities served as HMS’ financial adviser on the transaction, which is subject to regulatory approval and other customary closing conditions.
