Army Seeks Vendors for Cellular LTE Tech in Theater

wireless communicationsThe U.S. Army is seeking information from industry on ways to develop a cellular wireless technology backbone for ground troops.

The Army issued a sources sought notice Friday to solicit ideas on how to design and implement Long Term Evolution communications for the service’s intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance capabilities.

Potential vendors must design the technology with high-throughput data access for soldiers to gain situational awareness and increased mobility, the notice states.
