Diana Gowen Heads to Deep Water Point as Principal Consultant

Diana Gowen, formerly head of CenturyLink‘s (NYSE: CTL) public sector business, has joined business navigator firm Deep Water Point as that company seeks to expand its reach in the information technology and telecommunications spheres.

The 30-year industry veteran will lead teams in support of both civilian and defense clients, Deep Water Point said Tuesday.

John Johnson, former assistant commissioner at the General Services Administration and a partner at Deep Water Point, said Gowen will apply her federal market “help our clients achieve higher degrees of success as we face a myriad of opportunities across the IT and telecommunications market.”

At CenturyLink, she presided over all aspects of the firm’s federal government contracts as senior vice president and general manager for the public sector.

Gowen previously held leadership roles at MCI Government Markets and AT&T (NYSE: T).

She is a member of organizations such as the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association,  Industry Advisory Council,  Association of the United States Army and Security Affairs Support Association.

Gowen is a graduate of the University of Maryland at College Park.
