ONR Seeking Proposals on Data Analytics Tech for Naval Warfare Missions

big data2The Office of Naval Research is accepting proposals and white papers on the development of a big data ecosystem that will help the forces apply analytics to data from national and Naval combat and weapons systems.

According to the presolicitation notice posted June 19 on FedBizOpps, ONR is looking to establish data access and use the extracted insights in the Navy‘s warfare activities.

In order to combine information from both the national and nbaval data sources for combat applications, the notice has identified the following areas for technology development:

  • A data science foundation supporting naval warfare mission areas
  • Management of data sources
  • Analytic capabilities for the warfare mission areas
  • Data protection and security

ONR said the resulting technologies are intended to aid anti-submarine and integrated air and missile defense warfighting activities such as assessment and prediction of threats.

Responses to the broad agency announcement are due to ONR by Oct. 3.
