CTC to Lead USMC Medium Truck Research Contract Team; Ed Sheehan Quoted

A Concurrent Technologies Corp.-led industry team will conduct technology research for a U.S. Marine Corps ground transport vehicle replacement initiative under a contract from the Office of Naval Research.

CTC said Friday the partnership with BAE Systems, MSI Defense and Mack Trucks’ defense business aims to develop conceptual models of the Next Generation Medium Tactical Truck for the service branch.

The companies will perform trade studies, performance analysis and computer-aided design work.

USMC is looking to replace its medium tactical vehicle fleet with transport systems that are smaller, lighter, digitally enabled, more fuel-efficient and potentially run on hybrid electric power.

“This work aligns with CTC’s mission to provide our Department of Defense clients with advanced technologies to meet their needs; in this case, to bring vision to next generation platforms,” CTC President and CEO Ed Sheehan said.
