Maria Cimilluca, a former senior director at Cornell University, has been appointed to lead the plant engineering services department at Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory.
“She brings a wide range of leadership and management experience in facilities planning, maintenance and operations, ” APL Assistant Operations Director Ruth Nimmo said Wednesday.
Cimilluca, a nearly two-decade veteran of campus roles, joined APL after nearly two years at Cornell and most recently served as senior director of facilities management at the university.
At Cornell, she led a team of more than 750 people that was responsible for a budget of more than $78 million.
She has also held senior facilities management positions at Franklin & Marshall College and East Tennessee State University, as well as facilities assignments at Syracuse University and Virginia Tech.
