Diana Gowen, senior vice president and general manager of CenturyLink‘s (NYSE: CTL) government services business, plans to retire at the end of this month after nine years as the unit’s leader, Washington Technology reported Wednesday.

Nick Wakeman writes that Gowen, a 30-year industry veteran, joined the group in July 2005 and has led the company’s telecommunication services work in the federal market.

“She and her team have been instrumental in establishing CenturyLink’s reputation as an industry leading broadband, cybersecurity and IT services provider to the federal government, ” CenturyLink said, according to Washington Technology.

CenturyLink Government won contracts with the Defense Department, Social Security Administration and the General Services Administration during her tenure, Wakeman reports.

She held executive positions at AT&T (NYSE: T) and MCI Government Markets prior to CenturyLink.
