Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) jet engine maintenance, repair, and overhaul service provider Kelly Aviation Center has been renamed Lockheed Martin Commercial Engine Solutions to reflect the growth in its client base.“Since 1999, we have been proud to be Lockheed Martin’s only jet engine MRO service provider, †Amy Gowder, vice president and general manager of LMCES, said Tuesday.
“Over the past three years, our legacy of improving on-wing performance for the military has grown to include commercial customers, †she added.
The expanded international market also followed its 2013 purchase of a Montreal-based MRO facility.
Gowder said including “commercial†in the new name sought to highlight its renewed focus to win contracts beyond those from the U.S. military.
“By surveying our customers, we confirmed that the best business decision would be to change our name… because we can deliver cost reductions and affordability that come from implementing commercial best practices, †he added.
LMCES provides MRO and test services for 11 commercial and military aircraft engines.
