Harris, Phacil Team to Update Space Launch Range Comm Network


Space Launch SystemA consortium of companies such as Harris Corp. (NYSE:HRS) and Phacil has been awarded a three-year contract to update a network the Air Force uses to support voice and data transfers during space launch activities.

Harris and Phacil will update the rocket test and launch communications infrastructure on the Eastern Range at Patrick Air Force Base in Florida, Harris said Monday.

The multi-million dollar award was issued through the General Services Administration-run Alliant small business contract vehicle.

Work for the Modernization Eastern Range Network project is scheduled to finish in early 2019, Harris said.
