Intel (NASDAQ: INTC) has wrapped up its purchase of wearable health and wellness tracking device manufacturer BASIS Science for an undisclosed amount.The BASIS Science acquisition is part of Intel’s efforts to further develop systems on a chip and related technologies for the wearable devices market, Intel said Tuesday.
Jef Holove, formerly BASIS Science CEO, has assumed a general manager role within Intel’s new devices organization.
BASIS Science developed the Basis Band wrist-worn device that works to monitor physiological metrics and features web and mobile health tools.
