Gregg Keizer writes that Gates owns an estimated $13.2 billion in Microsoft common stock as of Friday and remains as the company’s biggest individual stockholder.
Gates has sold approximately 80 million company shares per year within the past decade, according to the report.
Keiser predicts that outgoing CEO Steve Ballmer could become the largest Microsoft shareholder by mid-2014 if Gates continues to divest shares at his current pace.
Ballmer currently holds 333, 252, 990 shares in the company, 25 million less than Gates’ holdings, according to the article.
