Mishra currently leads the group’s research project into carbon sequestration and shale gas development and will aim to help grow Battelle’s subsurface resource management practice in his new role, Battelle said Monday.
He will also integrate the company’s expertise in geoscience, microbiology, data analytics, metagenomics, nanotechnology and materials science for the energy sector.
Prior to joining Battelle in 2010, he was involved in applied research and environmental consulting and taught petroleum and geosystems engineering at the University of Texas in Austin.
He has authored more than 150 technical papers and teaches courses on the environmental impact of hydraulic fracturing.
