Army Releases RFI for Tunnel Detection Sensors

TunnelThe U.S. Army has released a request for information for mobile sensor systems intended to locate underground tunnels, C4ISR & Networks reported Tuesday.

Michael Peck writes a FedBizOpps post by the U.S. Technical Support Working Group states the Army requires a bi-static frequency domain electromagnetic system designed to pinpoint the location and depth of tunnels.

The BSFDEM sensor will be required to be built from off-the-shelf parts and include magnetic field sensors and a transmitter, a processing unit and a GPS.
