The news agency, citing German newspaper Handelsblatt, said General Dynamics’ bid beat out Germany-based defense company Krauss-Maffei Wegmann.
According to the Handelsblatt’s sources, the deal involves the purchase of General Dynamics Land Systems-manufactured M1 Abrams battle tanks.
Reuters said recent reports speculated that Krauss-Maffei Wegmann would win a contract to provide Saudi Arabia with 200 to 270 Leopard 2 tanks.
